A medevac request was received from a community leader from Heyu Village, Bulolo District, regarding a critical obstetric emergency yesterday afternoon.

The patient, 36 year old female, has 3 children and being pregnant with the 4th child.
Labour pains of her 4th child commenced yesterday morning and the patient experienced foot presentation.She partially delivered with both legs presenting, while the remainder of the body remained undelivered.
The patient was reported to be very uncomfortable and weak, indicating a high-risk situation requiring immediate medical intervention.
Weather conditions were reported as a dull day with white cloud cover on the surrounding mountains.
This case highlights the extreme risks faced by mothers in remote communities and the critical importance of rapid aeromedical response to prevent loss of life.
