Emergency Medevac for Mother in birth complications from Aseki - Menyamya, 3rd November 2025

A mother in critical childbirth condition was airlifted at 7am from Aseki Station in Meyamya District of Morobe Province after experiencing severe complications after labour.


According to the midwife, who reported the case, the mother went into labour five (5) days ago in Bainu Village and walked days into Aseki Station late last night.



A medevac helicopter was dispatched under coordinated arrangements with the MAMA Foundation to transport the patient to ANGAU Memorial Provincial Hospital in Lae for emergency obstetric intervention.


The MAMA Foundation expressed gratitude to rural midwives and aid post staff , whose vigilance and dedication continue to save lives in communities where access to emergency care remains limited.
