The mother gave birth to a healthy baby boy weighing 3.2 kg at 10pm last night but was reported to have a postpartum hemorrhage (PPH); a serious medical condition involving excessive blood loss after childbirth. Manolos Aviation received the medevac call at 12 midday; however, communication was briefly lost due to bad weather and the remoteness of Mindik. The flight was eventually executed at 1pm.

The operation was particularly challenging due to low cloud cover and poor visibility. The pilot made a careful detour, following the river up to Mindik to ensure a safe landing and quick medical evacuation.

The Manolos Aviation crew worked closely with local health workers to ensure both mother and child remained stable throughout the flight.

Manolos Aviation continues to provide vital emergency air transport services across Morobe Province, connecting rural and hard-to-reach communities with critical medical care when it matters most.
