Manolos Aviation Airlifts Teacher from Koyodza After Post-Childbirth Complications to Lae | 20 October 2025

A 26-year-old female teacher from Koyodza Primary School, Zunzumau Village, Sialum LLG, Tewai - Siassi District in Morobe Province was airlifted to Lae today by Manolos Aviation following a miscarriage and post-childbirth complications.
The medevac call came in at 11am, but difficult terrain caused a temporary loss of communication. Despite low cloud and limited visibility, the Manolos pilot safely navigated along the river route to reach Koyodza and complete the evacuation at midday.
The patient was stabilized by flight nurses of MAMA Foundation and being transferred on board and remained in stable condition during the flight to Lae. CEO for Manolos Aviation, Captain Jurgen Ruh said, “Our highest priority is mothers with birth complications who are public servants in remote areas as well”.
She was then taken ANGAU Memorial Hospital. Manolos Aviation continues to provide critical medevac support across Morobe Province, ensuring timely medical assistance reaches remote and hard-to-access communities.
