A woman from Kusi Village in Wau-Waria District was in an emergency evacuation into Lae early this morning after suffering severe injuries from a falling stone two weeks ago.

Her relative walked days to where theres road access get on a vehicle and came to Lae and to Manolos Office and requested the Medivac yesterday. Since they don’t have network at their area, Network area will be on top of the mountain.
The patient, aged in her early 30s, sustained injuries to the right side of her head, her back, and has a deep open cut to her right thigh muscle caused by a rock falling from a mountain. She reportedly lost a significant amount of blood. While she remains conscious, she is unable to walk and is experiencing severe pain.
The village assessment indicates that the case is surgical, with a Triage Level 2 priority. The nearest health facility, Garasa Health Center, is a week-long walk from the village, making immediate medical assistance difficult.

She was airlifted into Lae for further medical assistance at Lae’s ANGAU Memorial Hospital.
